About

My name is Tiffany Navarro. Iā€™m a Mexican-American visual artist and art educator living in Brooklyn, New York. I create abstract works with glimpses of narratives. My current medium is fabric and occasionally I work with watercolor. I earned a BFA in painting from Pratt Institute in 2004 and later I earned a MS in Art and Design Education from Pratt in 2011. From 2012 to 2017, I lived in Mexico City and for some of that time I was a part of the art collective, ATEA. During my time in Mexico City I fell in love with the surrounding colors and fabrics. That is where I started making fabric collages that mix organic imagery and symbolic imagery to make one cohesive work. Now I continue to work with fabric that I have collected over the years. I continue to grow as an artist by taking sewing classes, learning from artists and having a consistent art practice. I also work as a full-time lower school art teacher in Manhattan, NY.
